Case study: Engaging with learning and development...

Two women at PC

I began my journey with Halfords Autocentres on the 12th October 2015 when I started by apprenticeship at ProVq in Shrewsbury.  Over the last 3 years, my Centre Manager, Andy Greer and mentor Steve Atkinson have been instrumental in helping me develop my skills.

How and why are you working with The IMI?

As part of my apprenticeship, I have attained my IMI Level 3 in Refrigerant handling and IMI Level 2 in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Maintenance.

How has working with the IMI helped you?

My IMI Apprenticeship has helped me achieve the Halfords Honda Yuasa British Touring Car apprentice of the year 2019.  The prize has enabled me to further my knowledge and experience by attending each of the BTTC races over the course of 2019 where I have had first-hand experience of working on the race team’s cars. I am currently working towards completing my apprenticeship where I hope to pass my End Point Assessment to become a Level III qualified vehicle technician.
