The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is the professional body for individuals working in automotive and the authoritative source of industry careers information, standards, qualifications and accreditations. The IMI’s Professional Register aims to drive up standards across the automotive industry, providing consumers and customers with added confidence in the industry and the professionals who drive it.
The automotive sector is fast paced and ever changing, we are currently going through a huge shift to electric vehicles and with that the skill sets required are changing. Combined with a skills gap and a shortage of talent being brought into the industry due to the skills shortage we need an Education Outreach and Engagement Officer to supercharge the attraction, retention and progression of talent into the sector. This is an exciting time and an exciting role to really make a positive impact and difference to both the sector as a whole and individuals lives by increase positive outcomes for young people and those choosing to retrain and join as mid-career changers.
We are looking for those who would like to make a difference in shaping what we currently do and evolving this to meet wider needs of underrepresented groups in the sector. This will involve fostering partnerships with other organisations, creating new resources and being an advocate for the future workforce. This will directly support the IMI Vison ‘To build a skilled, adaptable and professional international automotive workforce’.
