Failure to complete the assessment by the 31st March 2025 deadline will mean a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will need to be submitted and a demonstration test booked with the DVSA. What are the MOT requirements?

When is the deadline for my Annual Assessment and training for 2024/2025?
You must complete the appropriate training and pass the relevant assessment by 31st March 2024.

What if I need special consideration?
Special educational needs self-declaration
You can now declare that you require special considerations and will be given additional time to complete your assessment. You'll find this option on the checkout page or you can complete the form by clicking here.
Once we have added the extra time, please re-login for the changes to become active in your account.

I am carrying out my training and my completion tracking isn’t working and all the boxes aren’t ticking. How can I get the boxes to tick?
Ensure that every screen is visited and adequate time is spent on the learning materials. If you click forward too quickly, the program will not register as complete.

I have previously accessed the training video and/or done the quiz but I am unable to access the training video again?

What are the preferred browsers to do the training and assessment?
We recommend that you use the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge on a PC. If you are using a Mac, please try using Firefox, Chrome, Brave or Puffin web browsers.

I have had two attempts and I have failed my assessment. Do I have to pay again to take the assessment?
Yes, please call the membership service team on 01992 519025 to re-book your assessment or email us at mot@theimi.org.uk.
Your account will need to be reset before proceeding with further attempts.
Once your extra attempt has been added, please re-login for the changes to become active in your account. You should then have an option to reattempt the assessment again.

Can I take a practice assessment?
No, but you can find some sample questions produced by the DVSA. Please click here to visit the DVSA website.

What grade do I need to pass the assessment?
The pass grade for the assessment is 80%.

I have passed my test but my certificate has not gone to the DVSA. What do I need to do?
Please make sure your DVSA username and date of birth is correct on the DVSA MOT Testing System (MTS). If this is all correct and if your certificate still hasn’t gone through then please email us at mot@theimi.org.uk or please call the membership service team on 01992 519025.
