Careers Partnership Lead

Full time, Hybrid role, 3 days office based

Salary £40,000 - £45,000 dependant on skills and experience

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is the professional body for individuals working in automotive, supporting people in their automotive careers through membership, qualifications and training.  The IMI’s Professional Register aims to drive up standards across the automotive industry, providing consumers and customers with added confidence in the industry and the professionals who drive it.

Role Overview

As our Careers Partnership Lead, you’ll play a key role in championing the automotive industry as a diverse, future-ready career destination.  Working at the intersection of policy, education, and industry, you will lead high-impact careers initiatives and develop strategic partnerships that support talent attraction, re/upskilling, and inclusive workforce development.

This role sits at the heart of our "Attract and Recruit" and "Reskill and Progress" campaigns — helping both young people and adult career changers find fulfilling futures in the motor industry

About You

We are looking for a proactive and strategic professional with a passion for inclusive career development.  As Careers Partnership Lead you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of the UK’s automotive sector, you’ll have proven experience in partnership or stakeholder management, ideally within education, employability, or skills sectors, a deep understanding of careers education, training, or workforce development.  Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage employers, education providers, and government agencies. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a track record of advancing these principles in your work.  The ability to work strategically and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
