In honour of the late Sue Brownson OBE, a former IMI President who made an extraordinary contribution to the automotive industry, this award recognises outstanding individuals who positively impact the sector.

Eddie Hawthorne
Eddie began his career in audit at Arthur Young, Glasgow, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1989. He joined Arnold Clark Automobiles in 1990 as Group Financial Controller, working closely with Sir Arnold Clark on acquisitions.
Promoted to Group Managing Director in 1998, he led the Group’s national expansion and became Chief Executive in 2017. He has received multiple industry honours and, since 2025, remains involved as a consulting director.
