Supercharging IMI Skills Competitions finalists’ talents

The IMI Skills Competitions are an incredibly important event, showcasing the talent that’s in the industry and highlighting the huge range of skills needed across the sector.

But the finalists in each category don’t just have to reply on the skills and knowledge they’ve gathered in their time in the automotive industry so far. They’re all given access to additional resources to help them prepare for the finals and take forward with them in the future.

Each stream of competition gets online training as well as a practical one day tailored event to help them get ready for the final, this year they all received free IMI EV eLearning – it’s now an embedded part of the competition – helping them all become future ready.

Each training day uses the latest technology and tools they will be using at the final. Best of all its free of charge for the finalists.

The training is on point thanks to firms in the industry lending their time and facilties to deliver the most on point information possible. This year it was held at MAN Truck and Bus, Glasurit, ITAS, Car-O-Liner and Pro Align

All the finalists go away with the latest up to date knowledge possible, supporting them in their work and apprenticeship. It’s a successful programme and some of those who take part have gone back and trained other staff members on processes following the training days.

This puts them all in the best position for the final and to have a successful career, showing that no matter how good you are, it’s always worth investing additional time to boost your skills, and perhaps learn new ones.
