Hayley

Hayley is possibly one of the busiest people in the sector and, as always, has a lot of updates to get through this month. So, without further ado...

The MOT Consultation

response has been received and the IMI has been asked to be a named contributor for our work which has been agreed.

DVSA

sets out vision to keep Britain moving safely and sustainably and can be found here.

APPG for the Future of Employability

portcullis

The IMI is now an Advisory Board member, and there wil be a statement from the Chair, Siobhan Baillie MP, soon. We have the right to use the portcullis logo associated with the APPG (a right of a select few), and there will be an update to their website soon regarding our status.

This is an important development in our relationship at Parliament and provides the IMI with direct access to cross house, cross-party high-level discussion on all aspects impacting employability. Read the full story here.

APPG T Levels

Speaking at the most recent APPG, the IMI highlighted the concerns of the industry to parliamentarians, exploring the potential of these new qualifications, and our fears of potential unintended consequences.

IfATE

I have put together a working group at the behest of IfATE and submitted them to the department. They will form a resource to enable policy makers to consider the needs of SMEs operating in the maintenance and repair of light vehicles who are offering learning opportunities. It is not too late to join. Interested SMEs that would like to be considered for the Trail Blazer group please email Hayley.

Industry and Parliamentary Trust

The IMI was delighted to accept an invitation to join the IPT and is actively involved within both houses along with other high level industry stakeholders to ensure the voice of automotive skills are ever present when forming decisions that impact our communities.
