IMI Skills Competitions competitor bags the bronze in the world’s!

Craig Kennedy had to bide his time before he could take part in the World Skills Competition finals, but the IMI Skills Competitions 2019 gold winner took his chance and took home Bronze in the Car Painting category this year.

The competitions were meant to be held in Shanghai but, following Covid delays, Craig ended up heading to Denmark as World Skills travelled around the world to different venues hosting the various competition finals.

Craig’s Bronze award is a massive achievement for him personally and for Riverpark Training and Howell Accident Repair where he studies and works.

It just goes to show what you can achieve if you stick to your guns and follow your dreams. Craig has managed to achieve an international Bronze award out of a pool of great automotive talent from all over the world. We are excited to see much more talent like Craig’s coming through the IMI’s own Skills Competitions Finals which are due to take place the week commencing 14th November. We will be posting updates on our social media channels throughout so keep your eyes peeled!

Even more recognition of automotive talent is on the cards as the IMI Annual Awards nominations have launched this week. The IMI will recognise the incredible talent, commitment and passion in the automotive sector at our flagship event at the InterContinental London, Park Lane, on Wednesday, 15th March 2023. IMI wins

Let’s also not forget, the IMI have celebrated some wins of their own recently – we achieved the award for Best Customer Support during COVID-19 at the Memcom Awards 2022, and reached Silver for the Leadership Award, at the Association Excellence Awards 2022. It is important we celebrate the wins that we can whilst we live amongst a hugely changing landscape, but we are looking forward to seeing what is to come now that Rishi Sunak has taken post at number ten.
