Driving change: ITN to film motor industry story starring the IMI

The programme, to be premiered at the IMI Annual Dinner in March 2016, will play an important role for the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) in shaping the future of motoring, championing motoring professionals, as well as demonstrating the benefits of licensing and professionalism to the public and politicians.

The programme contains a mix of news items ranging from apprenticeships and the 300% return on investment available to businesses, electric and hybrid cars and the need for up-skilling the workforce to deal with them, the demand for a license to practice for technicians, and a look at what the future holds for the industry worth over £152 billion per year.

IMI CEO, Steve Nash, says, "This is an unparalleled opportunity for the IMI to tell the amazing story of the retail motor industry.  It’s also a tremendous endorsement of the work we have already done to raise the public profile of the sector and to advance the interests of individuals and businesses within it."

Simon Shelley, ITN Productions’ Head of Industry News, said, "ITN Productions is delighted to be partnering with the Institute of the Motor Industry in a very exciting time, where the future is truly upon us. We’re excited to embark on this project to engage professionals from the industry and foster a collaborative effort to develop a safe, sustainable and successful industry."
