The goalposts have shifted again, so we need to help one another

Things are changing and we’re all going to have to adapt to a way of life that is constantly in a state of flux. The government’s latest announcement proves that we can’t take any easing of restrictions for granted, because they could easily be curtailed as the coronavirus situation develops.

The fact that we, as an industry, have changed our approach since the initial March lockdown, shows that we’re all more than capable of rising to the challenges this year has delivered. We’ve shown that businesses can prosper, can deliver for customers and proven we’re a resilient group. We’ll do it again now.

Like you, the IMI will continue to adapt, change our working practices and make sure we continue to deliver for you no matter how the rules change. The COVID hub remains available to provide access to a range of sector updates, coaching materials and eLearning to nurture you, your teams and business through the pandemic.

But there are other support systems available if you need them.

Automotive charity Ben, continues to offer a range of services that are open to anyone in the industry, whether you’re currently working or now retired. If you need emotional, financial or health and wellbeing support, get in touch and start the conversation. It’s what Ben exists for.

We’re determined to help the charity’s brilliant work, which is why the IMI is reaching for the stars with its £100,000 fundraising target. As part of it we’ve organised a virtual event, where you can walk, swim, cycle – or any other activity you want – from the IMI’s head office to the British Motor Museum.

Sign up for the IMI 100 Challenge and help reach our total. It all kicks off from the 28th September. It will make a huge difference to Ben and help support the most disadvantaged at a time when they need it most.

And if the IMI can help in any way please get in touch, we’re to help. So get in touch on +44 (0)1992 519025, or send emails to hello@theimi.org.uk if you need us.

With my very best wishes,

Steve
