Home-schooling? We’ve got you covered!

Homeschooling

For many, lockdown 3.0 is adding an enormous amount of stress. A lot of people are balancing a full working day with home-schooling, and that’s incredibly difficult.

Schools are better prepared this time round, which means that more children are accessing online classes, and the BBC is running educational programming for primary and secondary students. But everyday life is still tough for working parents.

The IMI Student and Careers teams are here to help parents and kids in whatever way we can, and I’d like to share a few resources that may help:

  • Through the IMI’s Autocity portal, we’re providing a huge array of free teaching resources, lessons plans, competitions and toolkits to help take the pressure off.
  • The resources including 52 lesson plans covering STEM subjects, ICT and business, employability toolkits and activities to encourage creativity. There’s something for everyone.
  • Specifically, to support and develop children, the IMI is teaming up with Sytner Group to kickstart a UK-wide competition for schools and colleges to design, brand and launch their very own vehicle. There are prizes to be won too! Over the next four weeks the IMI Business & Enterprise Competition will release weekly activities to entertain and support your child with their communication, problem-solving, planning and research skills while trying out various job roles in the automotive industry including marketing, design and sales.

If you have any questions that you need answering or want to discuss how the IMI can help you, please contact us on +44 (0)1992 519025, or email hello@theimi.org.uk. We’re here to help.

It’s tough at the moment, but we’re here every step of the way.

Look after yourselves and your families.
