irtec license renewals

The irtec steering group recognises that Covid-19 is presenting many challenges to the industry but maintains that safety, standards and best practice are as vital as ever.

To help centres manage the backlog of candidates, and facilitate future uptake, it has been agreed that the 12 month grace period, between taking the underpinning knowledge test and completion of the physical assessment, can be utilised and supported by a change in the way we update the irtec Technicians Directory.

Once the candidate passes the underpinning knowledge test, the directory will be updated and their licence extended by 12 months. The candidate must complete the physical assessment during this time. At this point they will receive their certification and the directory will be updated to show the full five year extension.
