Learning’s coming back

Apprentice

The last few months have been incredibly stressful and if you’re an apprentice you’ve probably been wondering how you were going to be able to complete your qualifications.

We’ve been fighting your corner and setting out alternatives to make sure your journey doesn’t hit the skids. IMI’s chief executive Steve Nash is talking to skills minister Gillian Keegan direct about this.

And now we’ve reached the next stage with the re-introduction of face-to-face EPA skills assessments. They may feel a little different to previously, due to social distancing requirements, but it’s a great feeling to get people back on the road, finishing your apprenticeship journey and heading into your chosen career.

Things will continue to evolve and we’ll adapt to make sure everyone completes every stage of their apprenticeship. Head over to the IMI website for the latest updates and key information on End-point assessments.

The big point here is that we all need to keep learning. As we come out of this crisis, our skills will be what sets each of us apart. Keeping our CPD up to date could be the difference between success and failure.

The IMI offers a variety of options to keep you learning and developing, many to which are available as eLearning modules. Whether you want to learn more about Advanced Driver Assistance Systems or Electric Vehicle Motors and Control Systems, there’s an option for you. Check out our website for everything on offer – including free modules.

We’re constantly updating our resources, including digital events. And we now host regular webinars. I thought you might also find the following external events of interest: Upskilling your workforce and Top Tips for Virtual Interviews.

We’re striving to find help everyone succeed and the more we hear from you the more we can help. If you have any questions please contact us on +44 (0)1992 519025, or send emails to hello@theimi.org.uk.
