She’s electric! – why Hannah Gordon is charging up her career

EV

I came across Hannah Gordon on Twitter recently. Hers is a great story about passion and adapting to changing times.

Hannah owns the SPA Motor Company and has 14 years’ experience in the industry. She’s passionate about classic car restoration but she’s also keenly aware of the electric future.

So as well as skilfully restoring classic Porsches back to their former glory, she’s also gained both her IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities and IMI Level 3 in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement. She gained these qualifications at Ralph Hosier Engineering – one of the IMI’s latest accredited training centres – that’s also built many vehicles featured in some well-known motoring TV shows.

Hannah admits that a couple of years ago she probably wouldn’t have wanted to get these qualifications, but now realises how important it is for her and the business to get on board with industry changes. She’d also love to turn an old front wheel-drive combustion engine car into a rear wheel-drive EV!

Getting prepared for the EV revolution is about increasing our knowledge and upskilling ourselves, as Hannah’s story shows. At the IMI we’ll continue to flag up the issues and support our members through the shift.

Our What you need to understand about the new 2030 deadline webinar is a fantastic place to begin your journey and find out about how electrification is changing the industry.

And if you have any questions or just want to discuss how the IMI can help you, please contact us on +44 (0)1992 519025, or email hello@theimi.org.uk. We’re here to help.

With my best wishes,
