Stay on track with your MOT assessment
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The MOT is a critical part of the automotive industry. It’s the thing we’re probably best known for! So the health and vitality of our MOT Testers matters to all of us.
To help Testers and business owners understand the changes to MOT assessments, the IMI hosted a special webinar with the DVSA: MOT made manageable with the IMI & DVSA. The DVSA’s Head of MOT Policy Chris Price was in the hot seat, talking with the IMI’s Partnership Manager Graham Allan about what we can expect as the industry shifts, including:
- Advances in vehicle technologies, from electrification to ADAS
- Testing headlight systems
- Connected test equipment
- ANPR cameras...
- ...and how Testers can keep on top of their skills
MOT made manageable
At the IMI, we want to take the pressure off MOT Testers and business owners, so with the annual training and assessment deadline approaching fast we’ve put together some bite-sized videos to help you navigate the process:
- How to print the MOT assessment overview
- How my MOT training progress is tracked
- How to access the MOT training video
- Navigating the MOT training
- How to find the MOT help guide
Our IMI MOT pages offer even more useful resources.
Remember, the DVSA have declared that there will not be any extension on the end date for the MOT assessment this year, so with time running out we are looking to help get all MOT Testers across the line by the due date of 31st March. It was also discussed in the MOT Made Manageable webinar that due to MOT extensions granted as a result of COVID-19, there is an unseasonable spike of MOTs due to expire in March, and so garages will be getting very busy – make sure you complete your MOT Annual Training & Assessment to beat the rush.
We’re always here to help, so if you have any queries or questions on MOTs or any other topic, get in touch and we’ll find the answers for you. Call +44 (0)1992 519025, or send an email to hello@theimi.org.uk.
With my very best wishes
Steve
