Supporting Ben, so it can support all of us

Fundraising

We all need help sometimes. Even if the COVID-19 pandemic hadn’t hit and thrown everything into disarray, stress, worry and concerns can still be part of daily life. But you don’t have to face problems alone. Industry charity Ben is here to help.

It’s an organisation that perhaps not everyone has heard of but does some incredible work supporting people across the motor industry no matter what challenge they’re facing. Whether you’re retired and need support, or in work and dealing with mental health, financial or physical issues Ben can help.

The IMI will always sing the charity’s praises, so much so that our CEO Steve Nash is Ben’s Chairman. But we want to do more.

That’s why we’re committed to raising as much money for Ben as we possibly can. We still have the £100,000 target that we set at the beginning of the year in our sights. Achieving it will help the charity immeasurable.

Before we went into lockdown we’d made an incredible start, with over £19,000 donated through a host of events, including the IMI’s Centenary Dinner. And while some of our activities – skydiving, the IMI British Bake Off and London Bridge Trek – have been put on hold we haven’t stopped adding to the total.

Through our JustGiving page money continues to come in, even during the lockdown we hosted two fundraising quizzes through Kahoot, where 48 IMI staff took part and raised £404. And we have more plans in the pipeline so keep an eye on our social media feeds and newsletters to see what we’ve got planned and how you can help.

Of course, there’s nothing to stop you clicking on the JustGiving page and donating. Whether you can give a lot or a little, it’s all gratefully received. Ben is an incredible charity that does so much for those in the industry and deserves all the support we can give it.

In the meantime if you need any advice, support or help from the IMI, please contact us on +44 (0)1992 519025, or send emails to hello@theimi.org.uk.

Or if you think Ben could help you, whatever you’re going through, get in touch. They’re there for you.

With my very best wishes,
