This award celebrates learners by highlighting their exceptional achievements and dedication to professional development and learning. It is open to individuals who are currently in education at a school, college, or training provider during the 2023/24 academic year.

Corey has been a standout student in the Vehicle Body Repair course, consistently impressing with his politeness, enthusiasm, and dedication to learning. His insightful questions and relentless effort to refine his skills demonstrate a strong commitment to his craft. Over the year, Corey has evolved into a highly talented professional, and his passion for the industry is evident. His growth has been rewarding to witness, and there is no doubt that Corey’s bright future in the industry is well-earned.

Jacob Fish

Jacob Fish, Bridgwater and Taunton College

Jacob has shown extraordinary resilience and dedication in his journey at Bridgwater and Taunton College. After facing a personal loss and relocating due to personal circumstances, Jacob transitioned to a full-time IMI Level 2 programme. His commitment to overcoming challenges, catching up on missed work, and maintaining 100% attendance highlights his determination. Jacob’s curiosity, proactive approach to learning, and peer-teaching role in the workshop demonstrate his passion for the automotive industry. His leadership and perseverance make him a true inspiration to others.

Matthew Flanders

Matthew Flanders, New College Lanarkshire

Matthew is a standout student at New College Lanarkshire, currently excelling in his Motorcycle Level 7 programme after successfully completing Level 4 and 5. Known for his humility, technical expertise, and exemplary work ethic, Matt consistently meets deadlines and achieves top test scores. His talents in technical drawing, fabrication, and welding shine through in both his academic work and motorcycle builds. Matt's attention to detail, strong leadership qualities, and passion for motorcycling make him an ideal candidate for Learner of the Year.
