Winners of the Contribution to the work of the IMI Award 2023

The BMW Group Academy is upheld as an IMI centre of excellence, demonstrated by our commitment to delivering high-quality training and administration standards. This is reflected in our EPA and EQA results which are consistently outstanding. The Academy actively supports the IMI's broader business objectives; highlights include hosting European delegates on behalf of the IMI at the BMW Academy in 2022. This demonstrates our close working relationship with the IMI as a Centre of Excellence.

The Academy is proud to have achieved the highest number of high-voltage qualified technicians in the industry (86%). This has resulted in further recognition from the IMI by being awarded the first-ever TechSafe Centre of Excellence award in July 2022.

We further supported the IMI by developing end-point assessments, such as re-shaping question banks and optimising assessment best practice procedures. In addition, we hosted a mock EPA for Bodyshop providing useful feedback and insight on processes and procedures for both ourselves and the IMI.

Also, during 2022 we are enhancing our CPD programme to include motorcycle technicians for the first time and also upgrading the Bodyshop CPD programme in-line with our technical programmes. These changes will encourage technicians to maintain their IMI membership and positively impact reducing attrition rates.

Lastly, we are extremely proud that in 2022 three staff members have been awarded the Fellowship of the IMI (FIMI), which underpins our commitment to our long-standing partnership with the IMI.
