Since 2010, Autotech Group has been a key partner to the IMI, addressing skills shortages in the automotive aftermarket and supporting industry growth. Through its brands—Autotech Recruit, Autotech Training, Autotech Academy, and Autotech Connect — Autotech Group supports the IMI with sponsorships, board participation, and adherence to IMI standards.

They provide both technical and non-technical IMI training for contractors, the aftermarket and wider sectors, develop bespoke training programmes, and promote lifelong learning. With a focus on people, skills and technology, Autotech Group forges international collaborations, enhances training, upskills technicians, and supports the IMI’s mission to bridge the industry’s skills gap.

Autotech Academy bridges the employment gap by offering paid internships for newly qualified technicians, collaborating with 120 IMI centres to support raising awareness of a career in the automotive and achieving a 95% job placement rate. The company also supports IMI campaigns like ‘More To Motor’ and collaborated with the IMI and the School of Thought which led to the launch of Automotive Work Experience Week.

Autotech Connect work with and support the work of the IMI, utilising the AR headsets to deliver remote observations via the IMI Endpoint Assessment Team; increasing operational time and reducing downtime caused by unnecessary travel; improving the interaction and experience of the IMI’s customers and supporting the welfare of the IMI team.

Morelli has been a dedicated supporter of the IMIs Skills Competitions since 2010. Their contributions include supplying materials, tools, PPE, competition venues, and logistics for Body Repair and Refinishing events. They also provide support for training, judges' shirts, and prizes. Morelli's commitment extends to securing storage for equipment and leveraging 67 years of industry contacts. Without their backing, running the IMI Skills Competitions would be extremely challenging.
