Tony Lawson

Tony has a long and distinguished career in automotive and engineering, both in the military and civilian sectors. He spent more than 20 years in the Royal Air Force, where he trained and worked as an engineer. He rose to the rank of Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and participated in UK and NATO operations around the world.

After leaving the military, Tony moved into automotive education, where he led various departments related to adult training, vocational training, qualification delivery, apprenticeships and quality management.

At the IMI, Tony has held different roles within quality management, assessment management and operations management. He is currently the Head of Assessment Services.

Tony's aim is to support the Automotive and Engineering sector in developing and advancing individuals. He provides and facilitates access to Apprenticeships and Qualifications and encourages continual development.
