Ian Plummer

Ian’s extensive automotive experience spans more than two decades and encompasses many key parts of the automotive ecosystem. That includes OEMs, with senior roles at Volkswagen Group and Renault-Nissan Alliance, both at international head office as well as NSC levels, retail group management, and latterly the fast-moving world of Auto Trader’s new and used car digital marketplace.

With a strong understanding of the automotive retail market, he will bring to the IMI Board a particularly important insight into consumer behaviours and will add to the conversations about how the IMI can support the transition to the government’s net zero targets. In addition, as the automotive industry enters a period of considerable change, he brings to the IMI a close understanding of the fast-growing role of digital skills in the transformation ahead.
