Awards, awards, awards

It’s not easy for me to write this IMI member update because, at least to begin with, I’ve got to talk about myself. But here goes…

On 23 November I was thrilled to receive the Motor Trade Outstanding Achievement award. It was obviously a very proud moment personally, but really the credit goes to the IMI as a whole.

The award recognised some specific areas where the IMI has made a difference: the establishment of the IMI TechSafe professional recognition; our campaign to seek £15m government funding to support training of technicians in EV skills; the IMI Diversity Task Force, which looked into the skills gap in the automotive workforce; and expanding the IMI’s membership.

After Memcom recognised the IMI for “Best Customer Support during COVID-19”, this is the second major award this year and shows what a superb job the whole team is doing for the automotive sector.

IMI Annual Awards

A final reminder to put forward nominations for the IMI’s Annual Awards in 2023. The deadline for nominations has been extended, and the winners will be announced at our Annual Dinner on 15 March 2023.

IMI Skills Competition

One final shout-out. If you haven’t yet looked through the winners of the IMI Skills Competition winners for 2022, please do. What an incredible, diverse, talented set of winners we had this year! The future is in good hands.

If you have any questions about anything, get in touch at hello@theimi.org.uk or on the phone: 01992 511521. As always, we’re here for you.

With my very best wishes,
