Final Call: Showcase star apprentices in the IMI Skills Competitions 2025

IMI skills competition

Deadline 28th March 2025 for FE colleges and employers to make their nominations and for nominees to complete an online assessment

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is making a final call for entries to the prestigious Skills Competitions 2025, with an emphasis on its Heavy Vehicle Technology and Body Repair streams as both have received fewer entries compared to last year.

Nominations are also invited for the Automotive Technology and Automotive Refinishing competitions streams. All nominees must complete an online assessment by the March 28th deadline for their chance to become a regional qualifier.

The ultimate platform for celebrating and showcasing the brightest new talent in the UK’s automotive sector, entries are open to anyone currently studying a Level 3 apprenticeship, or those who have completed one within the last 12 months. The IMI actively encourages entries from diverse and underrepresented communities.

Designed by industry experts, the competitions highlight the exceptional learning and development invested in apprentices by both tutors and employers. The competitions boast a proven track record of success: 90% of past participants report improved career progression, and 86% note enhanced personal and employability skills.
