The IMI expands Continuous Professional Development courses matched to the evolution of the automotive sector

Four new IMI courses cover EV and ADAS, sales and customer service and automotive finance, enabling the workforce to maintain industry standards
Reflecting the fast pace of change in the automotive sector, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has launched a series of new Continuous Professional Development courses. Focused on key areas of the sector where significant change is occurring on an on-going basis, the new courses complement the technical skills courses for which the IMI is best known.
“The automotive sector has seen rapid change over a very short space of time, from the use of new technologies across a range of job roles to the introduction of new regulation to protect the consumer,” explained Kim Wenman, CPD Partner & Sales Executive of the IMI. “It’s critical, therefore, that the workforce can demonstrate their continued focus on professional standards.
“Our new courses are designed to provide fresh and relevant learning, enabling automotive professionals to remain competent and proficient.”
Expanding the IMI’s existing CPD offering, the new courses have been developed in partnership with organisations that are specialists in their fields to ensure learners receive the highest quality training. They cover Sales, EV & ADAS, Sales & Customer Service and Finance, and are available at discounted rates for IMI members.
“The IMI is committed to fuelling talent and raising standards across the automotive industry,” added Kim Wenman. “And, recognising the rapid evolution of the industry, we have applied innovation to our own training offering to achieve this.
“There are more than 200 different job roles within the automotive sector, in all areas from sales and marketing to software development and data analytics, sustainability and senior leadership, as well as technical roles repairing and maintaining vehicles. We have developed these new courses to help businesses and individuals keep up with the growing range of skills required in the sector. Each one focuses on building core capabilities and supporting continual professional development to raise standards across the industry.”
