IMI recognises leading lights in automotive industry

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) recognised the leading lights in the automotive industry at its prestigious Annual Dinner, held this year at the Savoy, London, which was attended by around 380 of the sector’s leading figures and the IMI’s patron, HRH Prince Michael of Kent.  The IMI’s Skillmiles Awards, now in their fifth year, aim to demonstrate to industry, employers and Government the valuable contribution many companies and individuals in the automotive sector make to support the skills agenda.

Ten awards were presented by HRH Prince Michael and Steve Nash, the IMI’s Chief Executive, to the organisations or individuals who had finished at the top of their respective categories. The award winners were as follows:

Micro Automotive Employer: Downie’s Garage (IMI collecting on their behalf)
Medium Automotive Employer: Thurlby Motors (Emma Scholfield collected the award)
Individual / Sole Trader: Gus MacPherson (Gus MacPherson collected the award)
Large Automotive Employer: Macrae & Dick (Andrew Grzesinski collected the award)
Vehicle Manufacturer: Jaguar Land Rover (Dr. Adrian Birch collected the award)
Support Organisation: Andrew Page (Rob Croft collected the award)
Training Provider: Riverpark Training (Colin Hagan collected the award)
IMI Member Associations: Derby and Sussex (Mathew Curtis, Derby and Douglass Wragg, Sussex Collected the awards)
Special Ignition Award: Car-O-Liner (Charlie Busby collected the award)
