The IMI is sponsoring two categories at this year’s Autocar Great Women in the British Car Industry awards

The motor industry is a diverse place with a plethora of roles that provide a varied and exciting career for everyone in the trade. The IMI is constantly looking at ways to underline how much the industry has to offer which is why it’s supporting this year’s Autocar Great Women in the British Car Industry awards.

The initiative celebrates the top 100 women in the automotive world. Run by Autocar, the top 100 are selected from every sector in the industry:

  • Aftersales and workshop
  • Executive
  • Marketing
  • Manufacturing
  • Operations
  • People development
  • PR and communications
  • Sales
  • Vehicle development
  • Mobility and digital.

The IMI is sponsoring the Executive category which is open to any senior manager in either the OEM, retail or supplier environments. But the IMI is also looking to the future and the need to bring new talent into the industry.

With that in mind it’s also sponsoring an Apprenticeship category that sits outside the top 100, but is no less important, and is dedicated to celebrating the important role they play in making the automotive industry the success it is.

Open to anyone working on an apprenticeship scheme both in the retail and manufacturer environments and is awarded to the applicant who demonstrates an enthusiasm for their chosen specialism, who can demonstrate a clear vision of what they want to achieve during their career and how they expect to achieve it.
