It’s time to get active with the IMI and help support Ben

Mindfullness

The IMI is committed to raising £100,000 for industry charity Ben, as part of that target we’re launching the IMI 100 Challenge, a virtual event anyone can get involved in, and help support the charity.

This year has been incredibly difficult for everyone, from the start of the lockdown in the spring through the summer and now as we enter the colder months. It’s put pressure on businesses and individuals, and many of the challenges people wouldn’t have faced before.

It’s why the industry’s charity Ben has become even more essential, helping those in the automotive sector work through their issues and find a light at the end of the tunnel.

IMI 100 Challenge

At the beginning of the year, the IMI committed to raising £100,000 for Ben, a target we’re determined to hit. As part of the fundraising activities we’ve organised the IMI 100 Challenge, a bespoke virtual event that’ll see participants travel the equivalent distance from the IMI’s Fanshaws Head Office in Hertfordshire and finishing at the British Motor Museum in Oxfordshire.

You can complete the route however you like, so pull on your running shoes, don those walking boots, jump on your bicycle or jump in the pool for a swim. The choice is yours. Members have already started signing up.

“I’ve worked in the industry from leaving school as a grassroots apprentice technician through to IMI External Quality Assurer so this is a cause close to my heart. Plus, it’s a challenge that will get me away from my home office and into the great outdoors. Win, win. I’ll be walking and cycling my way to the 100,” said Alistair McCrindle External Quality Assurer, South Region for the IMI.

So, now’s the time to sign-up, download the app, choose your exercise, (or mix them up), and get ready for the starting gun.

The IMI 100 Challenge will run from the 28th September for three weeks, finishing on the 18th October, so there’s plenty of time to complete the distance, and the money raised will help Ben continue to deliver the support, help and guidance when times are tough.
