The IMI’s 2020/21 NOS review was a resounding success and now, the institute needs your help with this year’s consultation

The IMI ran an incredibly successful review of the National Occupational Standards (NOS) covering a range of sectors helping shape the future of industry.

NOS are used across sectors by employers, employees, training providers, job seekers and many more to help improve staff competence, create training materials and define skills requirements. Input from the industry helps the standards remain up to date and relevant.

During the last review over 700 hours of time was given to the project by 126 individuals to help review and shape five core NOS suites: Electric Vehicle, Motorcycle, Paint, Heavy Vehicle and Bus and Coach. Many of those who took part participated in multiple reviews across the different suits.

With so much time dedicated to the reviews, we’re offering CPD certificates to all those involved as a thank you for making the consultation such a success.

However, the work doesn’t stop there and we’re already embarking on the 2021 consultation to review four further NOS suites as well as two new developments:

  • Auto Electrical & Mobile Electrical Installation
  • Heavy Vehicle Trailer
  • Lift Truck
  • Vehicle Fitting
  • NEW development: Autonomous Connected Electric Shared (ACES)
  • NEW development: Vehicle Recycling

If you’re keen to take part in the process, now’s the time to express your interest. Simply fill in the survey by clicking here to let us know which consultation(s) you want to be involved in and, a member of the team will be in touch to explain the next steps.
