OESAA Academy Live is a free-to-attend event, bringing OEMs together under one roof, to share their knowledge and experience with today’s and tomorrow’s technicians. Held at IMI-affiliated colleges, these events will be delivered by trainers at the top of their game. These are unmissable opportunities for technicians to be hands-on, get to grips with the newest technologies and learn new best practice techniques – all of which they can profit from short and long-term.

Heart of Yorkshire’s Education Group Curriculum Development Manager, Gareth Mitchell, said: “By hosting events like these within the college, it allows the collaboration of two sectors – education and automotive – to work together. It allows the passage of information, not only to industry personnel, but to our students who will inevitably spread the valuable lessons and information gained to the wider industry and beyond.

“We at the college are proud of the industry and believe that we are training the technicians of our tomorrow. These events only strengthen that belief and aim.”

Friday Agenda:

During Friday’s morning session, a diverse range of presenters will illustrate their career paths, to show potential routes and roles in the industry. In the afternoon, participating OESAA members will hold intimate seminars for apprentices. These will be purposely designed to help further their learning and prepare them for the real-world of a workshop environment.

Saturday Agenda:

Meanwhile, on Saturday, working professionals will be able to immerse themselves in 45-minute sessions with those same OESAA members. These will be devised to offer a ‘taster’ of training packages directly available from OEMs.

Doors on Saturday will open from 9am for breakfast and registration, with training getting underway at 10am. The final session will conclude at 4pm.
