Automotive Learners Report 2020Q3
The aim of this report is to analyse the numbers undertaking automotive qualifications across the UK taking certification data from the 4 nation’s regulatory bodies. It also highlights Techsafe qualification and all data is released on a quarterly basis.
Some key highlights:
- The effect of Covid-19 on vocational certificates awarded in 2020 Q2 saw the lowest recorded certifications on record. Quarter 3 traditionally has the most certifications issued of the year and 2020 Q3 saw increases that were more than fourfold compared to the previous quarter. However numbers are still 13% lower than 2019 Q3.
- This effect appears to be more significant for automotive qualifications, who in 2020 Q3 saw significant increases certifications compared to last quarter with increases of more than 450% however they are almost a third lower than the same quarter in 2019.
- Scotland has seen the largest falls in automotive qualifications compared to last year with a fall of 67%.
- The number of IMI TechSafe certificates issued in 2020 Q3 increased by 47% compared to last quarter but as with all automotive qualifications still much lower than the same timeframe last year, down 67%.
