The aim of this report is to analyse the numbers undertaking automotive qualifications across the UK taking certification data from the 4 nation’s regulatory bodies. It also highlights Techsafe qualification and all data is released on a quarterly basis.

Some key highlights:

  • The effect of Covid-19 on vocational certificates awarded in 2020 Q2 saw the lowest recorded certifications on record. Quarter 3 traditionally has the most certifications issued of the year and 2020 Q3 saw increases that were more than fourfold compared to the previous quarter. However numbers are still 13% lower than 2019 Q3.
  • This effect appears to be more significant for automotive qualifications, who in 2020 Q3 saw significant increases certifications compared to last quarter with increases of more than 450% however they are almost a third lower than the same quarter in 2019.
