Senior Paint Accreditation                                                                                                     

The Senior Paint Accreditation has been designed to demonstrate that learners have the advanced skills and knowledge required to carry out high-quality automotive paint operations. This includes identifying panel substrates, interpreting material safety data, and applying paint systems to a professional standard.

Learners will develop the ability to correctly identify new panel substrates to be painted and demonstrate competence in accessing, understanding and interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to identify hazards associated with products used in the refinishing process.

This accreditation also ensures learners can prepare and clean new panel surfaces to a high standard, ensuring they are free from contamination prior to the application of foundation and finishing materials.

This accreditation equips learners to:

  • Identify different panel substrates and appropriate preparation methods
  • Interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to ensure safe working practices
  • Prepare and clean surfaces to a high professional standard
  • Apply foundation and finishing materials correctly
  • Identify paint defects and carry out rectification procedures
  • Achieve high-quality paint finishes across a range of applications
