To become an MOT Tester for Classes 1 & 2, you need to:

  1. Have a current and full UK driving licence for classes 1 & 2
  2. Be a skilled mechanic with at least four years’ experience in full-time employment in the service/repair industry
  3. Evidence via the .GOV ‘prove your employment’ portal the 4 years full time experience

Have no unspent convictions for criminal offences
