Technicians who carry out diagnostic and repair work on the Anti-lock Braking
(ABS), Traction Control (ASR) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC / ESP)
systems as fitted to modern passenger vehicles.
The course aim is to provide delegates with a working knowledge of selected
active braking control safety systems and equip them with the necessary
diagnostic skills required for fault diagnosis on the wider range of systems.
The knowledge gained on this course will enable confident and efficient fault
evaluation on late model electronic braking systems. This will lead to safer and
more accurate fault diagnosis and subsequent repair.
Course Content:
• ABS working theory overview and associated controls
• Vehicle stability methods on early ABS systems
• Select Low operation and Cumulative Yaw Deceleration
• Engine Drag Torque Control and Electronic Brake Distribution
• Traction Control methods, ECU control and implementation
• Active wheel speed sensor technology
• Bosch Electronic Stability Program Systems

Technicians who carry out diagnostic and repair work on the Anti-lock Braking.
It is recommended that delegates have successfully completed Bosch courses VSE 1, VSTD 9, and VSC 6. Attendance on course VSE 7 will also aid in understanding the sensor technologies employed. Delegates are expected to be experienced in typical oscilloscope and diagnostic tester operation.
