Who is it suitable for?

This Level 2 NVQ is aimed at technicians working on routine removal and replacement tasks in the automotive glazing industry. It covers the key skills required by technicians who remove and replace glazing components on all types of motor vehicle.

Candidates who complete the level 2 NVQ, could progress onto a Level 3 NVQ in automotive glazing and a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Glass Industries Occupations.

About

Windscreens and windows are essential in maintaining a vehicle's structural strength and therefore a qualification of this type is vital in ensuring vehicles are repaired to the highest quality standards.

Progression

Successful technicians may be promoted to a training or supervisory role. It is also possible to move into customer services or work up to management level.

Assessment

Learners will demonstrate their skills and knowledge by collecting evidence of their work. This evidence is usually presented in a portfolio (however your approved centre may use an alternative method). The assessor will advise learners how to generate, collect and present their evidence.
