Who is it suitable for?

This NVQ is aimed at technicians working on routine repairs in the automotive glazing industry. It covers the key skills required by technicians who repair windscreens on all types of motor vehicle.

About

Windscreens are essential in maintaining a vehicle's structural strength and therefore a qualification of this type is vital in ensuring vehicles are repaired to the highest quality standards.

After completion, technicians should require minimum supervision when:
  • undertaking repairs
  • dealing with customers.

Progression

Candidates who complete the L2 NVQ, could progress onto a L3 NVQ in automotive glazing and a L3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Glass Industries Occupations. Successful technicians may be promoted to a training or supervisory role. It is also possible to move into customer services or work up to management level.
