IMI Level 2 Certificate In Glass Related Operations (VRQ)

This qualification now expires on 31st July 2017 and will be replaced with a new qualification later in the year

Who is it suitable for?

This VRQ is suitable for:

• automotive glazing technicians with more than two years' experience – and who have not previously gained a national qualification. 
• new industry recruits, the Certificate provides the mandatory knowledge (VRQ) component for the Apprenticeship in Automotive Glazing (awarded by Proskills).

About

This is the entry level qualification for those working in the automotive glazing sector. This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to gain knowledge of the basic requirements of working safely and effectively in a glass related working environment with a particular focus on the automotive application.

Progression

For some learners this qualification could prepare them for progression to further learning and training. For others, this qualification could also provide a useful recognition of their practical skills and knowledge, to aid their step from one job role to another.

Assessment

Establishing underpinning knowledge and understanding relevant to the glass industry, this qualification can be achieved through both a taught programme of off-the-job learning or through workplace (for those already in employment).
