Who is it suitable for?

The L3 qualification is for individuals who have significant experience in their job role in a warehousing operation within the logistics sector. Therefore these learners will be working as a senior team member or team leader. In addition to normal warehouse operation activities they will have the additional responsibility of overseeing teams to ensure tasks are completed on time and in line with organisational and customer requirements.

About

The purpose and aim of this competence qualification is to provide individuals working in warehousing and storage occupations within the logistics sector, e.g. a warehouse operatives, forklift drivers, warehouse team leader/supervisors, with a flexible qualification which develops and demonstrates their competence, skills and knowledge in their job role.

This qualification covers the range of activities carried out by senior staff working within a warehouse and storage environment, which include:

  • team leadership
  • organising and scheduling operations
  • operational performance management

Learners can undertake the IMI Level 3 Diploma in Warehousing and Storage, as part of the SFL Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage.

Progression

For some individuals, this qualification can provide useful recognition of their professional competence to aid their step from one job role to another, e.g. moving into supervisory and/or management roles. For others, it could prepare them for progression to further learning and training.

Assessment

Learners will demonstrate their occupational competence, skills and knowledge by collecting evidence of their work. This evidence is usually presented in a portfolio (however your approved centre may use an alternative method). The assessor will advise learners how to generate, collect and present their evidence.
