Who is it suitable for?

This NVQ is designed for individuals who are 16+ and employed in the construction plant or machinery maintenance industry. It is an integral part of the CITB SSC Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance Advanced Apprenticeship Framework. Therefore learners who are keen to build a career in the industry can take this NVQ as part of the Apprenticeship framework

On completion, technicians will be able to demonstrate that they have the practical competence required to work in the construction plant or machinery maintenance industry

About

This Level 3 qualification contains a range of units which allows learners to develop their practical competence across a range of different areas to cover the diverse nature of equipment within the construction plant and machinery maintenance industry.

This qualification has been developed by IMI in conjunction with the construction plant-hire association, employers, training providers and the CITB Sector Skills Council.

Progression

This qualification forms the competence component of the CITB SSC Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance Advanced Apprenticeship framework. When an apprentice has achieved a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, they can then choose to broaden their education and training in other ways from this firm base.
