Who is it Suitable for?
This engaging and motivating Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) is generally aimed at learners 16-19 years old who have a keen interest to learn about maintenance and repair associated with a range of automotive sectors; examples are:
- Accident repair
- Light and heavy vehicle
- Motorcycle and leisure craft
- Land-based engineering including agricultural machinery, construction and plant-based machinery
About
This qualification consists of Group A Mandatory units and Group B Automotive Maintenance and Repair units; both Group A Mandatory units and 8 Group B Automotive Maintenance and Repair units need to be successfully completed to achieve this qualification.

- E3AMR02: Introduction to Common Tools and Equipment for Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

- E3AMR08: Introduction to Compression Ignition Fuel System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR09: Introduction to Exhaust System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR10: Introduction to Steering System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR11: Introduction to Suspension System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR12: Introduction to Braking System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR13: Introduction to Wheel and Tyre Construction and Maintenance
- E3AMR14: Introduction to Transmission System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR15: Introduction to Vehicle Lighting System Components and Maintenance
- E3AMR16: Introduction to Body Fitting (MET)
- E3AMR17: Introduction to Minor Dent
- E3AMR18: Introduction to Joining Motor Vehicle Materials
- E3AMR19: Introduction to Mixing, Applying and Shaping Body Filler
- E3AMR20: Introduction to Masking Materials and Techniques

The units have been developed to provide flexibility for this qualification. Learners will develop their knowledge and skills in a mainly practical setting which will help them prepare for further studies in a variety of automotive industries or employment.
Progression
Learners can typically progress to a higher level of learning such as a Level 1 Diploma and also supplement their progress to GCSEs and other appropriate destinations, such as apprenticeships and employment.
