Introduction and requirements to deliver AOM133

AOM133 – Bonding and mechanical fastenings following researched repair methods

This unique module was developed in 2015 and has previously been a standalone module only. The Assessed Outcome Module (AOM) covers the replacement of a panel section which is secured by adhesive/bonding and mechanical fastenings. It has been developed so that technicians can prove their competence in demonstration the following areas:

  • To demonstrate their skills and ability in selecting, using and following researched repair methods
  • To demonstrate their skills and ability in cutting and securing replacement body panels, using bonding and mechanical fastening technique

For this AOM the assessment is carried out on a steel panel and therefore the tooling and repair techniques relate to the steel construction material.
Assessor Requirements: To assess this module an IMI Accredited Assessor Workshop, with an assessed outcome specific to this module, must be completed and achieved. (Please contact the IMI for dates and venues.)
This AOM requires a specific Assessor approval, facilities/workstation set up, equipment and materials in order to carryout AOM133 assessments.
Please refer to Tools Specification Guide attached.
