Offering and administering finance packages to customers buying vehicles.
Written by employers, with input from participating Professional/Trade Bodies and Training Organisations, the Motor Finance Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard provides learners with an opportunity to gain experience in offering and/or administering finance packages to customers buying vehicles. Apprentices can gain knowledge in market and business awareness, the range of motor finance products available and the regulation surrounding them.
Typical job titles include: Dealer Support, Finance and Insurance Manager, Customer Adviser, Business Manager, Account Manager.
There are two options available:
- Motor Finance Specialist (Finance Company) who works for a finance company providing services to the Intermediary (Retailer/Broker) and their customers. They play a critical role in managing the day-to-day queries, needs and requirements of both the Intermediary and in some cases their customers.
- Motor Finance Specialist (Retailer Consultant) who liaises directly with the end user customer within an Automotive Retailer business, providing sales of new or used motor cars, vans or motorcycles. Their role will also cover ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, liaison with Finance Companies, smooth administration of processes and documentation, maintaining a customer focus and liaison with sales teams to proactively assist with the sale of motor vehicles.
Designed with different learning styles in mind, IMI’s solution ensures apprentices are fully engaged and prepared for their End-Point Assessment (EPA). This standard is suited to those who are new to the role or are progressing on their career journey through an organisation.
English and Maths at Level 2 (or equivalent) is required to be held prior to the EPA. The IMI provides solutions for any apprentice who does not have a Level 2 (or equivalent) in English or Maths before starting, to achieve this before completion of the apprenticeship.
- Employer is confident that the apprentice has developed all the knowledge, skills and behaviours defined in the apprenticeship standard.
- Off-the-job learning components of the programme completed.
- Achieved English and Maths at Level 2.
The EPA consists of two assessment methods:
1. Assignment
2. Structured Interview.
The apprentice will be awarded a Fail, Pass or Distinction for each assessment method and for the overall apprenticeship.
Completion of this apprenticeship will form the foundation of a career in the Motor Finance sector and may lead to a wider career in the Automotive Sector.
