Who is it suitable for?

This qualification covers technical needs for basic body repair techniques and procedures. It provides essential knowledge and skills for the body repairer working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body repair shops.

About

The learning programme involves learners studying both the theory and practical aspects, including:

  • removing and fitting permanent and non-permanently fixed vehicle body panels
  • carrying out minor motor vehicle exterior body panel repairs
  • motor vehicle body resistance spot welding operations

Learners will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

Assessment

The assessment of this qualification is made up of two components:

  • practical tasks
  • written assessments
