Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is suitable for:

• Individuals (who are not employed in the industry) who have already completed a SCQF Level 5 qualification and want the opportunity to develop further occupational knowledge and carry out higher level practical tasks.
• Experienced employees in the industry who are seeking to enhance and/or demonstrate their understanding of their work role.

About this qualification

The learning programme for this qualification is based upon The IMI Sector Skills Council's National Occupational Standards.

This qualification is an enhancement to the IMI SSC Scottish Level 6/7 Modern Apprenticeship Framework.

When a Learner has achieved a SCQF Level 6/7 qualification, they can then choose to broaden their education and training in other ways or progress onto higher level qualifications.

Progression routes

This qualification could provide useful recognition of an individual’s professional competence, to aid their step from one job role to another, for example, moving into supervisory roles. For others, this qualification is ideal for preparing individuals for progression onto further learning and training.
