WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?

This Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) is typically for Learners who are not currently employed in the vehicle body repair industry.  

This learning programme provides Learners with the opportunity to develop the vehicle body repair occupational knowledge and practical skills required by employers in this industry.

Individuals should have completed a SCQF Level 5 qualification prior to starting this qualification.  

ABOUT

This qualification is offered as an enhancement to the IMI SSC Scottish Level 6/7 Modern Apprenticeship Framework appropriate to the pathway being followed.

This qualification covers the knowledge and skills for:

  • Removing and replacing motor vehicle body panels
  • Rectifying major vehicle body repairs
  • Rectifying vehicle body misalignment
  • Vehicle welding operations

When a Learner has achieved this SCQF Level 6 qualification, an individual may choose to broaden their education and training in other subjects or progress on to higher level qualifications.

This learning programme qualification is based upon IMI Sector Skills Council's National Occupational Standards.

PROGRESSION

This qualification could provide useful recognition of an individual’s professional competence, to aid their step from one job role to another, e.g. moving into supervisory roles. For others, it could prepare them for progression to further learning and training.

ASSESSMENT

The assessment of this VRQ is made up of 2 components:

a. IMI-set Practical Tasks

b. IMI-set Online Testing

c. IMI-set Written Tasks - Optional
