IMI issues a last call for the MOT Annual Assessment

MOT

Testing sector is ahead of the game in 2025 but 11,000 technicians must still complete an assessment before 1st April

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is applauding the MOT testing sector for getting ahead of the curve as the deadline for the MOT Annual Assessment approaches on Monday 31st March. More technicians have completed their assessment at this stage of the deadline countdown, compared to 2024, but nearly 11,000 technicians still need to be assessed.

The IMI says those technicians that need to complete the assessment must act now, or risk suspension from testing and potential loss of income. The flexible IMI e-Learning packages have been designed to ensure testers can meet the deadline quickly and conveniently, offering 3-hour e-Learning modules that can be completed in bite-size sessions. Uniquely, it enables the assessments can be taken twice, giving technicians two opportunities to achieve the 80% DVSA pass rate.

Furthermore, the IMI’s digital MOT Useful Resources page aims to make the process easily manageable, including redeeming codes, printing certificates and uploading assessments onto the MOT Testing Service website.

Upon completing the IMI MOT Training and Assessment, testers can opt-in for free IMI membership. This grants them access to the IMI community, where they can explore new resources, stay updated with relevant learning materials, and benefit from helpful tips and tools to support their ongoing development.
