Carglass® France achieves country-wide ADAS certification from the IMI

Global industry standard sees windscreen replacement provider upskill its Technical Trainers

Reflecting the growing focus on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in automotive innovation, windscreen repair, replacement and recalibration provider, Carglass® France has invested in Institute of the Motor Industry ADAS certification for its trainers who support more than 1,300 technicians across France.  As Steve Scofield, Head of Business Development at the IMI explained, this is a significant landmark for Carglass® France, as well as a strong endorsement of the IMI accreditation.

“The fantastic developments in ADAS offer motorists a safer driving experience – as long as repairs are carried out properly by fully competent technicians. This is the big challenge right across the automotive sector - from bodyshops and repair garages, to insurers assessing and managing damage claims. We were, therefore, delighted to be able to support Carglass® France, one of the leading providers of replacement windscreens in France, and part of the Belron® Group, as they set to upskill their technicians by achieving IMI ADAS accreditation for their Technical Trainers.”

After a year of intense training and with support and guidance from the technical team at Belron®, Carglass® France achieved ADAS certification by the IMI earlier this year which further strengthens its provision of safe repair and a first time fix customer  experience.

“It’s a huge achievement”, explained Patricia Millet-Guizol, Training Director of Carglass® France. “Previously we had always asked Belron® to assess the skills of the Technical Trainers, but with IMI approved certification and recognition we will be able to improve the positioning of the Trainers within the automotive industry. And this will give us powerful differentiation versus our competitors.

“The accreditation reinforces the credibility of Carglass® in terms of professionalism and expertise in the automotive industry and provides important confidence for our partners and insurers. For my team, it was a challenge, as they all wanted to pass with the maximum score of 100%, which they did! Now they want to go further by moving to the IMI Master certification.”
