This module will introduce you to the vehicle combustion engine and discuss the function of other vehicle systems that work with the engine. The module will enable you to identify how lubrication systems are vital to the successful function of an engine and discuss how cooling systems work to maximise engine performance. You will be trained in relevant fuel systems, air systems and exhaust systems which are all key to the operational success of an engine. A variety of different filters associated with the combustion engine will also be analysed as well as engine system sensors and actuators that operate in conjunction with the vehicle electrical system.
