  • Understand thermal, moving iron and air cored gauges.
  • Understand cable and electronic speedometers and rev-counters/ tachometers.
  • Explain instrument displays and display techniques, including head up displays.
  • Understand vehicle condition monitoring.
  • Describe GPS, triangulation and dead reckoning.
