The Senior Panel Technician Accreditation has been designed to certify that learners have the advanced skills and competence required to assess, prepare and repair vehicles within an accident repair environment. This includes the safe removal and replacement of mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) components, as well as restoring vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
Learners will develop the ability to assess and prepare a vehicle prior to the removal of components, including ensuring systems are safely isolated (e.g. battery disconnection and fuse removal). The accreditation also covers the correct storage of components using approved procedures and designated areas.
Candidates will demonstrate competence in refitting and adjusting components to meet vehicle manufacturer specifications, alongside developing a comprehensive understanding of complex MET techniques and repair methods used within modern vehicle repair.

Eligibility
This accreditation is suitable for technicians working in the accident repair sector who have significant experience in vehicle repair.
In addition, the AOM 009 Level 2 Resistance Spot Welding module must be completed prior to attending this course. Candidates MUST present a valid Assessed Outcome Module Certificate (AOM 009) when registering for the IMI Panel or Senior Panel Full Assessment.
