Powering Performance – Naturally

This webinar aims to provide employers and managers with a practical and realistic set of actions that can help employees to drive employee performance.

According to Gallup, only 14% of employees believe their performance reviews inspire them to improve. So, is it best not to do performance reviews?

Doing nothing means leaving performance to chance; the best line managers have constant awareness of how their team members are performing, they can spot any potential problems early and respond to them. While not replying on fixed appraisal systems, they do have an effective performance process.

The webinar will debunk some of the myths about formal appraisal systems and discuss some of the methods used by effective managers to stay close to and drive individual performance. It will feature some real-world examples of performance conversations done brilliantly.

The webinar will cover:

  • The role of performance conversations.
  • What great (and poor) performance conversations look like.
  • Tools for keeping it objective and promoting action.

Who is the event for?

Employers, line managers and aspiring line managers.

What will you gain from it?

  • A good performance conversation is one that is worth having – it is about the value that a person is bringing to their organisation.
  • Formalised processes for performance reviews can be counter-productive; they can turn the conversation into just a task which needs to be completed.
  • Productive performance conversations are continual, objective, two-way and action-oriented. They lead to good results being sustained and less good results being improved on.
  • Strong managers have a range of techniques for ensuring that these productive conversations are happening and they use them seamlessly in their day-to-day interactions with team members.
